Summary

A career in engineering can provide a promising pathway for students to achieve financial stability and upward social mobility (Melguizo & Wolniak, 2012). Given these positive benefits, generating and sustaining student interest in engineering is a worthy goal. One method for generating student interest in classroom content is to facilitate recognition of personal relevance to students’ everyday experience (Authors, 2017). In this study we explore the predictive relationship between transformative experience (TE), emotions, and interest.
